This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Rayshree TV Odisha (“Rayshree TV”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with — including our advertising partner Google — and the choices and rights you have. We have written it to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and the requirements of Google AdSense.
1. Who We Are
Rayshree TV Odisha is an Odia digital news and entertainment channel owned and operated by Aminilu Ray, C/o Bibhas Mohanty, Bamphi Sahi, Rajabagicha, Telenga Bazaar, Cuttack, Odisha — 753009, India (Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-OD-07-0138139). For this website we are the “Data Fiduciary” (data controller) for the personal data described below.

2. What We Collect
2.1 Information you choose to send us. Readers do not need an account, and we have no comment section, sign-up form or e-mail newsletter. If you contact us by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp — for example with a news tip, a correction request, an advertising enquiry or a complaint — we receive your name, contact details and whatever you include in your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically. Like every website, our hosting server records technical data for each request: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. We use these logs for security, to keep the site running and to fix errors.
2.3 Cookies and similar technologies. We store your light/dark display preference and a short-lived weather reading in your browser. Our advertising partner Google uses cookies to show and measure ads. Details are in Section 4 and in our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as financial, health, biometric or religious-affiliation data through this website.
3. How We Use Information
- to publish and deliver the website and keep it secure (detecting abuse, attacks and fraud);
- to reply to your messages, verify news tips and act on correction, copyright or grievance requests;
- to show advertising that funds our free journalism (Section 4);
- to comply with the law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We process personal data on the basis of your consent (for example, when you write to us or accept advertising cookies) or for legitimate uses permitted by law, such as security and legal compliance.
4. Advertising — Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements on this website. In line with Google’s requirements:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

5. Embedded Content And Third-Party Services
- YouTube: our videos are embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube/Google may collect data once you press play, under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Content delivery: fonts (Google Fonts), icons and player code (unpkg, jsDelivr), video thumbnails (i.ytimg.com) and the weather reading (Open-Meteo) are loaded from these providers’ servers, which receive your IP address and browser details to deliver the files.
- Hosting and caching: the site is hosted by Hostinger and uses LiteSpeed caching; they process server logs on our behalf.
- Share buttons: the Facebook, X, WhatsApp and Telegram buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to those platforms unless you click one, after which their own policies apply.
6. Sharing Of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only with the service providers listed above to run the site, with Google for advertising as described in Section 4, or when required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our readers, staff or the public.
7. How Long We Keep Data
- Messages you send us: up to 12 months after the matter is closed, unless we need them longer for a legal claim or a published correction.
- Server and security logs: up to 6 months (as set by our host).
- Browser storage we set: until you clear it (weather cache refreshes every 30 minutes).
- Advertising cookies: according to Google’s retention periods, typically up to 13 months.
8. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you can ask us to: access a summary of the personal data we hold about you; correct, complete or update it; erase it where it is no longer needed; withdraw consent you gave earlier; nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf; and have your grievance redressed. Visitors in the EEA/UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR, including the right to object and to data portability.

9. Children
This website is a general-audience news service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not use children’s data for tracking or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to the publishing system is limited to authorised staff, and we keep the software up to date. No website can be completely secure; if a personal-data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
11. International Transfers
We operate from India. Some service providers (for example Google) may process data on servers outside India. Such transfers take place under those providers’ safeguards and as permitted by Indian law.
12. Do Not Track
There is no agreed standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so the site does not respond to them. You can still control advertising cookies using the options in Section 4.
13. Changes To This Policy
We will update this page when our practices change — for example if we add an analytics service — and change the “Last Updated” date above. Please check it from time to time.
